An abstract and word less trailer for the teathre play “Syren Hawaii Undulat”. The play is about the emotional chaos one goes through, when someone close to you suffers from dementia. It’s about all the guilt, frustration and fear of not being a good enough caretaker, friend or daughter.

With the film we tried to bring the play out of the theatre and into a real location. But we wanted to find a place that had many abstract and poetic qualities. Thus we found an abandoned house and covered it with overgrown creeper plants to symbolize the illness taking over the brain. Ironically enough, the former owner of the house also suffered from dementia.

All in all it came together in a sensitive expression with a mysterious and ominous vibe along with a notion of great emotional pain behind the eyes of brilliant actress Kimmie Liv Sennova.
