(Tenth Grade) 2019

Genre: Branded content / Web-series

Client: Hotel- og Restaurantskolen

Agency: Stupid Studio

Production company: Goodwill

A web series made specifically for snapchat. The school was very brave to throw themselves into this project that set out to tell stories to young people about young people. It would be about life on the school and was supposed to attract potential students the following year.

We cast students on the school to play the characters. Interestingly enough, we somehow managed to cast them in roles that were very familiar to their own situations.

As a director I tried to make the series very relatable to young people in the 9th and 10th grade years, while also maintaining a tight narrative with very short episodes.

Photographically the series was shot primarily to be screened in 9:16. At the same time, we had to shoot in 16:9 for YouTube, but my preferred screening of this series is in 9:16.

The series showed great results and was exposed more than 1+ million times. The following year, the school received +50% more applicants.
